Former Toronto Mayor David Miller endorses Matthew Kellway for City Council Ward 19

October 17, 2018

(Beaches-East York, Toronto) Former Toronto Mayor David Miller has thrown his support behind Beaches-East York candidate Matthew Kellway for the City Council seat in Ward 19.

“I have known Matt for over 25 years. He has always worked hard for people, for his community, and for our city,” said Miller. “I worked closely with him when he was the highly effective Urban Affairs critic for the official opposition in Ottawa: speaking up for all of urban Canada. The residents of Ward 19 will be well served by his deep understanding of the challenges our city faces - and the potential solutions.”

Kellway said he was delighted to have the support of David Miller. “David Miller was an excellent mayor with a big vision for our city and our potential as Torontonians. He had a view for the diversity that makes our city great, but also how to build consensus to get things done. I appreciate his endorsement.”

Yesterday, Kellway also received the endorsement of the Toronto Star. Here’s what the Star said:

“Former NDP MP Matthew Kellway has already served this community and his previous role as critic for urban affairs and transportation makes him well-placed to hit the ground running on some of Toronto’s most pressing issues.”
